I will do everything I can to secure funding so that the obsolete, dilapidated Reserve Fleet ships in the James River continue to leave to get scrapped.  These ships are an environmental hazard waiting to happen, and should a hurricane hit our area, they would be a potential disaster to the Tidewater area.  I am fighting for increased funding for the Maritime Administration's Ship-Scrapping Program, which is responsible for getting rid of the ships.
